THE PEOPLE SPEAK — Jesus is reason for Easter season

At Easter time we hear much a do about Easter bunnies, eggs, egg hunts, candy eating and wonderful get-togethers. All this overshadows much of the reason for our Easter celebrations.

If you believe the Bible, Easter represents the death, burial, and resurrection of God’s son, Jesus Christ, dying to give us salvation. He is the only door to eternal life because God gave this power only to him. He has the power to direct our daily lives in peace, joy, and happiness if we obey him, and he guarantees eternal life or death.

The world is full of religions of all sorts which only exalt man’s ideas, not God’s. In the Bible, God created the world and everything in it.  No man or group of men can come even close to his magnificent creations, and only then “if” he allows it. Man dies and fades away. God is eternal.

God gives us ever present help day-by-day if we follow his instructions and obey obedience. God desires fellowship not pupils. Therefore, evil men break the rules by choice and we all suffer because of wrong choices. God is love, but he may punish to correct our ways.

Many scholars show proof in the Bible the road signs that we are moving to the end of time on earth. Two thousand years since Christ’s death, burial and resurrection. He’s there and very close. The exact time no one knows, but our safety is guaranteed if we repent, turn from sin, accept Jesus Christ as savior, and live daily by his laws until he appears in the clouds to claim his own. He always is love, but he does discipline bad behavior.

Easter is a celebration of God’s son Jesus Christ, who died on the cross, arose and conquered sin and death. No greater love hath any man than to give his life for another. Many of us seem to live poor daily tributes to Jesus Christ, the king of kings, and lord of lords. No wonder the world is such a mess. It breeds hate, not love like God.
