Entertainers show nation their talents

Green Country is getting quality publicity around the country because of three home-grown entertainers recently.

The Swon Brothers are competing in the NBC TV show “The Voice.”

Carrie Underwood replaces Faith Hill as the singer for Sunday Night Football’s opening segment.

That announcement was made Tuesday.

Underwood will be seen every week by a national TV audience.

Although Underwood is classified by many as country singer, her talent transcends one genre.

The Sunday Night Football gig will help her reach a wider audience.

She most certainly will gain new fans from those who are unfamiliar with her talent.

By performing on a national stage, the Swon Brothers are introducing parts of America to Muskogee.

They most certainly will gain new fans, as well.

But they face elimination from the show tonight if they don’t receive enough online votes from across the nation.

Online voting closes at 9 a.m. today.

We are proud of how well Underwood and the Swons represent our community.

They display their tremendous talents to the nation with class.

They show that Green Country has good and talented people.

Every bit of positive publicity the Swons and Underwood provide could be a boon for our tourism industry.

We are lucky to have both the Swons and Underwood call Green Country home.
