THE PEOPLE SPEAK — Stop signs, red lights mean come to full stop

The city is always looking for more ways of gaining some extra revenue. Muskogee is sitting on a gold mine. Have the police start giving out tickets to all the cars that do not come to a full stop at all the stop signs and red lights.

It’s a bonus to be able to turn to the right on red light but only if you have stopped first for the red light. I have seen school buses and city buses abuse this privilege. When I took driver’s ed, I was certainly taught different but now no one even hardly slows down for a stop sign. Maybe if the sign read Full Stop, instead of just stop, it would make a difference.

Not all the people are going to read this in the paper but I am sure enough will heed the warning. After a few tickets, I am sure they will get the idea. Muskogee should have a lot more spending money in the city’s pocket to take care of a lot more potholes.
