THE PEOPLE SPEAK — Put prayer back in classrooms

When I was a kid in school here, our days started with a short Bible reading, prayer and the flag salute. What has happened that we can’t do that today?

My mom made a comment when I was a kid when I asked why we had to read the Bible in school and she said some of the kids never hear prayer in their homes, never hear God’s name except in the wrong way and the flag salute was to honor our veterans. And was she ever right.

We need to bring God back into our schools so the kids will have a chance to know him better. We need to have a Bible study in our schools for the kids who do want to learn more.

Our veterans, where would we be without them? They are out there protecting us in the best way our earthly men can and we need to give them the honor they deserve and say a prayer for their safety, too.

Come on folks, school will soon be out for the summer and we need to restart school with a new goal. Love God, trust God and lean on God. Prayer in school for one another. Honor our Veterans and our country.
