Community service earns praise

Muskogee High School students who have embraced community service through the Rougher 300 program deserve your appreciation.

MHS students earn non-academic credit hours for community service and church projects.

Seniors who gain 300 or more hours of service through their high school years are designated as Rougher 300 honorees and wear a silver cord during graduation.

Nine seniors will wear the silver cord this year, including three who volunteered more than 500 hours over the course of four years.

Many of these students would have volunteered anyway.

That’s even more reason to acknowledge their selfless contributions to our community.

Learning to be a community servant now will help them to live a happier and a more productive life.
