The Lake Area United Way kicked off its 2013 workplace campaign last week with its annual Day of Caring.
Individuals throughout the area showed their compassion and commitment by volunteering on various projects.
Among the many projects they work on, volunteers cleaned flower beds, clipped bushes and washed windows at the Kelly B. Todd Cerebral Palsy & Neuromuscular Center. They put up new boards and painted halls at Women In Safe Homes (WISH) facilities. “They worked their rears off,” WISH Executive Director Evelyn Hibbs said.
Here is another opportunity to show you care.
The Lake Area United Way has a goal of $675,000.
We encourage everyone to give what they can.
Your donations will help people in our area.
You may be helping a close friend or neighbor without realizing it.
The Lake Area United Way helps fund 16 charitable, educational and health-centered agencies in Muskogee and Tahlequah.
It’s time to make every day a day of caring.
