Thank you - 1.12.13

— ON CHRISTMAS Eve, I was in Homeland on South York. I was at the cashier stand to pay for my groceries when the checker said “this man wants to pay for your groceries.” He was a stranger so I said “no, I pay for my groceries” then he said, “yes, I want to pay for your groceries.” I thought he was joking or trying to confuse me (which he did).

I was opening my billfold when he reached over and paid the clerk. I was speechless but he walked away. Yeah Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. That deserved many thanks and appreciation. God bless you Santa wherever you are.

WE WOULD LIKE to say “Thank You” to Dylan Goforth for the awesome job he did in writing the article concerning naming American Legion Post 403 in Oktaha. Our Commander Lanny Cartwright and Legionaires were very pleased with the coverage and the response we received. It spread through the news media, and Commander Cartwright received several calls from others wanting to cover the event.

We would also like to thank Editor Ed Choate for the follow-up editorial. It has been superb having the Muskogee Phoenix backing the veterans in Muskogee and surrounding area. The entire staff has been awesome to work with in covering different events concerning our veterans. We are looking forward, to the ceremony in naming of A.L. Post 403 and what it will accomplish in Oktaha. Thank you so very much and looking forward to working together with you in future events helping our Veterans. “Veterans Helping Veterans.”
