OU women’s golf ninth at NCAA championships
ATHENS, Ga. – Oklahoma shot a third-round 300 (+12) and dropped one spot to a three-way tie for ninth place at the NCAA Women’s Golf Championships in Athens, Ga., with one round remaining. Arkansas posted a 302 in the third round moving into a tie for 15th overall in the 24-team field while Oklahoma State posted a 6-over 294 during its third round to move up two spots to 20th place.
Individually, OU’s Chirapat Jao-Javanil, the defending medalist, led the Sooners by shooting a 1-over-par 73. Jao-Javanil is tied with teammate Taylor Schmidt at 218 (+2), 11 strokes behind individual leader Annie Park of Southern California. USC is also leading in the team standings, 17 shots ahead of Duke.
Leading Arkansas are Emily Tulbert and Victoria Vela who are tied for 45th with a three-round total of 222 (+6) while OSU’s Julie Yang sits in a tied for 24th at 219 (+3).
