OSU guard gets Big 12 award

STILLWATER — The Big 12 Conference has named Oklahoma State guard Markel Brown as the Big 12 Player of the Week.

Brown was selected Monday after averaging 18.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in OSU wins over Delaware State and Colorado. The senior guard had a double-double with 23 points and 11 rebounds against CSU and had 14 points in the win over DSU.



RiverHawk earns MIAA honor

TAHLEQUAH – Northeastern State’s Keon Littleton was honored as the MIAA men’s basketball Athlete of the Week, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association announced on Monday.

Northeastern State (9-2, 4-0 MIAA) handed both Missouri Western State and Central Missouri their first MIAA losses this season, while staying atop the league standings. Littleton, a junior guard, averaged 16.5 points and 7.5 rebounds in the two contests. He only had one turnover the entire weekend and led NSU in points, rebounds, blocks, and steals.

Against Central Missouri, Littleton filled the stat sheet with 16 points, seven rebounds, three steals, two assists, and two blocks in 39 minutes. Against MWSU, he finished with 17 points and eight rebounds in 34 minutes.
