TULSA WINS C-USA TITLE – Aimee Creger threw a two-hit shutout and Tahlequah grad Erica Sampson drove in three runs as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane beat Marshall 8-0 in Boca Raton, Fla., for the Conference USA softball tournament title on Saturday, earning the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA tournament.
Creger struck out 12 in the game and improved her record to 27-1 on the season for Tulsa (50-7) while setting the C-USA Championship record for most strikeouts in a tournament series with 33 for the three games. Sampson three RBIs came on a double that highlighted Tulsa’s five-run fourth inning.
OKLAHOMA 5, OKLAHOMA ST. 4 – Oklahoma scored five times in the second inning and held on for a win over Oklahoma State in college softball in Stillwater.
OSU scored four times in the fifth inning to close the gap to one, but fell short in Saturday’s game.
