OSU qualifies for match play, OU, UA done

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The rain-shortened qualifying for the NCAA Men’s Golf championships completed play on Monday and Oklahoma State sits in fourth.

The Cowboys posted rounds of 277, 279 and 284 for an even-par 840. The top eight teams advance to the match play championship round and OSU meets Georgia Tech in the quarterfinals.

Stanford led the qualifying with rounds of 281, 267 and 279 for a team total of 827, 13-under par.

Alabama, LSU, UCLA, SMU and Illinois were the other five schools that moved into match play.

Oklahoma finished in a tie for 16th with a three-round total of 854 while Arkansas posted a team score of 857 to tie for 18th.

The individual title was decided on Monday and it took three holes to find a champion.

Stanford’s Cameron Wilson and Ollie Schniederjans of Georgia Tech finished their qualifying at 6-under 204. Wilson claimed the title with a birdie on the third extra hole.
