STILLWATER – Oklahoma State kicker/punter Quinn Sharp is this week’s Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday. It’s the second time in his career for him to be honored.
In the 20-14 win against Kansas, Sharp had two punts of 70 yards or longer and connected on field goals of 42 and 49 yards. He also even made a difficult open-field tackle that perhaps saved a touchdown by KU kick returner Tre’ Parmalee in the fourth quarter. For the game, Sharp averaged 53 yards per punt and added four touchbacks on kickoffs.
Sharp was the 2011 Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year and earned All-America honors as both a kicker and a punter.
