CONNORS (M) 90, INDEPENDENCE 66 – Connors State jumped out to a 10-2 lead in the opening three-minutes of play and was never contested the rest of the way rolling past visiting Independence Community College Monday at Melvin Self Field House.

The Cowboys’ win avenged a loss to the Pirates just five days ago in Kansas, 90-87.

Connors (7-1) was led in scoring by Willie Atwood who poured in 22 points along with the double-digit scoring of Quan Jones with 19 points, Kris Brown 17, and Terrance Carroll with 11.

Connors will take on No. 22 Western Oklahoma State College in the Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic  Conference on Thursday. Tip-off for the men’s game is 8 p.m. which follows the women’s game which starts at 6 p.m.

OSU (W) 74, IDAHO ST. 45 – Oklahoma State (4-0) raced out to a 20-10 lead midway through the first half and never looked back in beating Idaho State on Monday.

Liz Donohoe led the way with 12 points on a 4-for-5 shooting night. Lashawn Jones was the only other Cowgirl to finish in double figures with 10 points.
