It was Yariel’s ninth on the year and Dariel’s first and the first time in school history that brothers have homered in the same game. Also knocking out home runs were Sequoyah grad Eric Kirkpatrick, his seventh, and Hilldale ex Jarrard Poteete, his fourth. Poteete’s former Hornet teammate Hunter Harrison (4-0) took over on the mound in the fifth and was credited with the victory.

HOUSTON BAPTIST 11, ORAL ROBERTS 10 (10) – The Golden Eagles’ rally in the bottom of the 10th inning fell one-run short in Saturday’s loss. ORU record now sits at 21-18 on the year, 9-9 in the Southland Conference.

VANDERBILT 2, ARKANSAS 1 – John Norwood’s two-run home run in the fourth inning was all the offense the Commodores would need in beating the Razorbacks on Saturday. Arkansas (24-16, 8-9 SEC) scored its only run in the eighth inning on a single by Blake Baxendale.

Softball

TULSA 2, UTSA 1 – Haley Henshaw led off the 11th inning with a home run, her fifth of the season, to propel the Golden Hurricane past the Roadrunners on Saturday. BAYLOR 8, OSU 0 (6) –  Four home runs by Baylor proved too much for the Cowgirls in the three-game series finale at Stillwater on Saturday. OSU (24-20, 4-9 Big 12) managed just three hits in the game.

KENTUCKY 7, ARKANSAS 3 – The Razorbacks scored three runs in their first at-bat but couldn’t hold the lead at Kentucky on Saturday. Arkansas falls to 25-22 overall and 3-24 in the SEC.
