BACONE 11, SAGU 2 – Center fielder Anthony Seabolt, right fielder Steven Smith and first baseman Eric Folkers had three hits each as the Warriors (25-8, 14-1 in Red River Athletic Conference) dumped the Lions for their eighth straight win this season on Saturday.
Folkers homered and drove in four runs, while Smith knocked in two. Allen Rimer (2-1) struck out five batters and scattered six hits to pick up the pitching win.
The Warriors scored four runs each in the seventh and eighth innings. The Lions drop to 13-23 and 3-12.
OKLAHOMA 3, TCU 1 – Senior infielder Matt Oberste hit safely in his 28th consecutive game to break the school record, helping the University of Oklahoma baseball team beat TCU and clinch the Big 12 Conference opening series on Saturday at L. Dale Mitchell Park.
Oberste sent a one-out single through the right side in the bottom of the sixth inning to extend his hitting streak, dating back to the 2012 season. The previous record of 27 was set by Marty Neff in 1991.
BAYLOR 5, OSU 3 – Oklahoma State had its season-long eight-game winning streak snapped after stranding 15 runners as Baylor knocked off the Cowboys at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium on Saturday.
ORAL ROBERTS 3, CENTRAL ARKANSAS 2 – Logan Domenico slugged his first home run of his career, a two-run shot in the fifth inning, on Saturday afternoon to help lift Oral Roberts against Central Arkansas for the second straight game.
ARKANSAS 4. SOUTH CAROLINA 2 – In Columbia, S.C., Arkansas junior pitcher Ryne Stanek tossed the second complete game of his collegiate career, allowing two unearned runs and striking out seven, as the Razorbacks defeated South Carolina.
