Sharp named 2nd team All-American
OSU kicker Quinn Sharp was honored as a second-team All-American by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, it was announced Thursday.
Sharp, who last week was named to the American Football Coaches Association first-team All-America squad to become the first player in school history to claim a spot on a recognized All-America team in three different seasons, continues to add to his already impressive career résumé.
He was the 2010 first-team All-America punter by the Football Writers Association, the 2011 first-team All-America kicker by the FWAA, and now the 2012 first-team All-America kicker by the AFCA and second-team All-America kicker by Walter Camp.
Additionally, Sharp is a two-time selection as the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year, earning the award in both 2011 and 2012.
He enters the Heart of Dallas Bowl ranking second nationally in scoring at 11.7 points per game and his 2.08 field goals per game leads the nation.
