OKLAHOMA ST. 83, VERMONT 30 — Tiffany Bias scored 18 points, leading five Oklahoma State players in double figures, and the 16th-ranked Cowgirls cruised to a win over Vermont on Sunday.
Brittney Martin and Toni Young had 14 points apiece, Kendra Suttles scored 11 and LaShawn Jones added 10 points for Oklahoma State, which has started 8-0 for the third straight season. The Cowgirls, playing for the first time in 10 days, completed a six-game run at home; they won those games by an average margin of 46.7 points.
Oklahoma State forced 32 turnovers and had 18 assists, led by Bias with five.
Vermont (3-8) did not have anyone score in double figures. Kylie Atwood scored seven points to lead the Catamounts, who did make more 3-point shots (three) than the Cowgirls, who made two.
ARKANSAS 73, FURMAN 38 – University of Arkansas freshman Melissa Wolff led four players in double figures as the Razorbacks had a win over Furman in Greenville, S.C., on Sunday.
The Razorbacks move to 9-1 on the year with Wolff dropping in a career-best 15 points. Junior Keira Peak added 12 points, 11 for Erin Gatling and 10 for Sarah Watkins.
Arkansas opened cold shooting 0-9 in the first five minutes of the game. The Razorbacks’ only score was a pair of free throws from Quistelle Williams and Arkansas trailed 6-2 at the first media timeout.
Wolff led the team with nine first-half points with eight players scoring in the opening 20 minutes.
