SEMINOLE STATE 11-1, CONNORS 1-13 – Connors State and Seminole State exchanged slugfests on Friday on the Trojans home field in an Oklahoma Collegiate Athletic Conference baseball double header.

The Cowboys (32-4, 5-1 OCAC) were deadlocked with Trojans (22-2, 3-3 OCAC) 1-1 after four innings in the opener before Seminole began its onslaught. Jordan Romano took the loss for the Cowboys and is now 4-1 on the mound while Yariel Gonzalez led the Connors hitting with three hits with Korey Keith collecting two hits.

In the night cap, Connors took a 2-0 lead in the first inning when Phil Diedrick then drove home Christian Perez for the first run and Korey Keith came home on Eli Roundtree’s sacrifice fly setting the stage for the rout. Josh Hammill went the distance on the mound for the Cowboys, scattering four hits with four strikeouts.

BAYLOR 2, OU 1 – Cal Towey sent a 1-1 pitch over the right field wall in the bottom of the ninth to push Baylor past OU on Friday in Waco, Texas.

The Sooners 27-8, 7-4 Big 12) had rallied with a run in the top of the ninth on a single by Craig Aikin. Jake Fisher was hung with the loss, his first decision of the year.

TCU 2, OSU 0 – The Horned Frogs scored single runs in the third and fourth inning and held on to beat Oklahoma State in fort Worth, Texas, on Friday. Jason Hursh took the loss for OSU (23-10, 4-6 Big 12) and saw his record fall to 3-4 on the season.

LSU 6, ARKANSAS 2 – LSU starting pitcher Aaron Nola allowed two runs in a complete-game performance while Sean McMullen hit a three-run home run to lift the Tigers to a win over Arkansas on Friday night in Fayetteville, Ark.

The Tigers improve to 33-2 and 12-1 in the SEC, while Arkansas drops to 24-11 and 8-5 in league play.

Softball

NSU 8-11, WASHBURN 0-0 – The RiverHawks improved to 18-16, 10-4 in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association action with the two run-rule wins on Friday.

Cayce Coleman (6-3) earned the win in the circle in the first game, scattering six hits and walked only two batters while Kayce Wooldridge (5-9) got the win after throwing a five-inning, two-hitter in the nightcap.

OU 9, TEXAS TECH 0 – Keilani Ricketts threw the fourth no-hitter of her career and her third of the season, striking out eight and walking four to improve to 19-1 on the season.

Shelby Pendley went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two home runs for the Sooners (35-2, 4-0 Big 12) while Lauren Chamberlain also went 3-for-4 with a home run.

MURRAY STATE 6-3, CONNORS 5-5 – Connors State split with Murray State on Friday on the Cowgirls field as the Aggies rallied from a 3-0 deficit to win in eight innings in the opener, while the Cowgirls (20-24) captured the night cap.

The Cowgirls’ Amanda O’Neal picked up her fifth win inside the circle in the second game as CSC pounded out eight hits in the game. Ashley Dunigan, Vian ex Chelsie Drew and Marcedes Pankey had two hits each. Drew was 5-for-7 in the twin bill, which included her fourth home run in the opener.

BAYLOR 2, OSU 0 – Oklahoma State dropped the opening game of a three-game series against Baylor on Friday in Waco, Texas.

Offensively for the Cowgirls (24-15, 2-5), Ari Morrison picked up the only hit for the Cowgirls when she singled to right field in the top of the sixth inning. Kat Espinosa (13-11) took the loss for the Cowgirls, allowing two runs on six hits and striking out six in six innings of work.
