College softball regionals

NORMAN REGIONAL – A three-run seventh inning gave Oklahoma a 9-8 comeback win over Texas A&M on Saturday in the Norman Regional. The Sooners advance to the regional championship game at 1 p.m. today in a rematch with the Aggies, who eliminated Hofstra 7-0 to remain alive. Trailing 8-6 entering the seventh, a five-pitch walk to Shelby Pendley with the bases loaded made the score 8-7 game. After a foul out, Brittany Williams hit a chopper to first base that was turned into an error, allowing the tying and game-winning runs to score.

WACO (TEXAS) REGIONAL – Tulsa fell to host Baylor 2-1 to fall into the loser’s bracket on Saturday but came back with a 10-6 win over Houston, eliminating the Cougars, to stay alive in the Waco Regional. The Golden Hurricane and Bears meet again at 1 p.m. today with Tulsa needing to win twice to advance to the Super Regional. In the game against Houston, Tahlequah grad Erica Sampson led the way for the Golden Hurricane, going 4-for-5 with a home run, her team-leading 12th of the year, two runs scored and three RBIs.
