OK BAPTIST 6, BACONE 1 – Oklahoma Baptist jumped out to a quick lead and held on against the Bacone Lady Warriors.

The lone run for Bacone came in the sixth inning on Karina Watson’s home run.

Lucy Walter (0-1) took the loss for Bacone. She allowed six runs on seven hits.

Bacone (1-1) faces Rogers State in a doubleheader at home on Wednesday.

COWTOWN TOURNAMENT – The Cowgirls (2-6) were 1-2 on Saturday at the Cowtown Tournament in Fort Worth, Texas, losing to Northeast Texas 7-5, defeating Hill College 6-3 and falling to Ranger, Texas in the night cap 11-3.

Caitlyn Craig took the loss inside the circle against Northeast Texas with Vian native Chelsie Drew leading the hitting attack going 3-for-4 at the plate.

In the win over Hill College, Jerelyn Long took the win with Jessica Christian recording a save while. Drew, Mercedes Pankey, Long and Hilldale ex Erin Isham pounding out two base hits in the victory.

In the final game Craig took the loss while Tahlequah grad Whittney Whittmore led the hitting for Connors with two base hits.

NSU SPLITS AT SE TOURNEY – The Northeastern State softball team won the morning contest and lost the nightcap on day two of the Southeastern Regional Invitational Saturday at the Durant Multi-Sport Complex.

The RiverHawks (1-3) run-ruled Ouachita Baptist 10-2, and then fell to Missouri Southern State 4-2 in eight innings.

Muskogee ex Madison Reed and Tahlequah native Saharra Henson each scored a pair of runs in the game against Ouachita Baptist. Henson and Amanda Harjo led the team in RBIs with three each.

In the loss to Missouri Southern, Henson got the RiverHawks on the board with a first-inning run.

The RiverHawks will stay in Durant for the final two games of the invitational Sunday. NSU will play both Angelo State and Cameron.
