RiverHawk receives honor
TAHLEQUAH – Cody Robinson was named a 2014 Rawlings/American Baseball Coaches Association All-Central Region Gold Glove winner, the ABCA announced on Saturday.
The senior from Sugar Land, Texas, was the only student-athlete from the MIAA to earn a spot on the nine-man team after not committing an error in the field all season. He finished with 128 putouts and four assists in center field.
Robinson joins former RiverHawk Chad Davidson and and fellow senior Kyle Singleton as recent Gold Glove recipients from NSU. Both earned the laurel last season.
Those selected to the Central Region Gold Glove Team are recognized as the top defensive players in the region for their selected positions. The nine recipients from the Central Region will now be eligible for selection to the ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove national team, which will be announced at the conclusion of the 2014 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship Tournament.
