CONNORS TAKES TWO – Connors State defeated Maple Woods, Mos. 4-3 in the opener and 11-1 in the nightcap on Sunday.

Sequoyah ex Eric Kirkpatrick led the way with four RBIs and one home run.

NSU SPLITS – The Northeastern State baseball team split a doubleheader with Lindenwood University on Sunday afternoon at Rousey Field. The RiverHawks (6-9, 3-7 MIAA) took the seven-inning opener 7-4 before the Lions (4-10, 2-4 MIAA) run-ruled NSU 21-2 in the nightcap.

OU DROPS SERIES FINALE – Oklahoma left the bases loaded in the ninth as it dropped an 8-6, back-and-forth affair with Rutgers on Sunday afternoon. The Sooners fell to 11-5 on the season, while the Scarlet Knights improved to 4-8.

OSU BLANKED – Oklahoma State was shut out for the first time this season Sunday as San Diego claimed a series victory with a 7-0 win over the Cowboys on Sunday. OSU managed just six hits in the contest and struck out nine times as the Cowboys fell to 11-4.



Softball

NSU WINS TWIN BILL – The Northeastern State softball team swept Lincoln in a conference-opening doubleheader, 10-0 and 6-2 on Sunday. Sequoyah grad Saharra Henson banged out her third home run of the season while Muskogee ex Madison Reed had two hits in the first game.

HOME RUN LIFTS OU PAST TULSA – A home run by Lauren Chamberlain in the sixth inning gave Oklahoma a 1-0 win over Tulsa on Sunday. The Sooners held the Golden Hurricane to two hits.

OSU WINS ONE, LOSES ONE – Oklahoma State softball team split a doubleheader with Missouri State on Sunday, defeating the Bears 5-2 in the first game, but dropped the second half of the twin bill, 5-1. Hilldale ex Danielle Riddle was 2-for-3 with a run scored in OSU’s win.
