WICHITA STATE 5, ORAL ROBERTS 4 —
At Tulsa, Oktaha grad Cale Elam threw a no-decision five innings of five-hit, two-run ball and his team rallied from 2-1 and 4-3 deficits to win 5-4. Chris Williams hit his second home run for ORU as both teams are now 1-3.

EMPORIA STATE 7-3, NSU 5-7 — Northeastern State (3-2, 3-2 MIAA) jumped on top 4-0 after the first inning, but two three-run frames from the visitors allowed the Hornets (2-6, 1-4)  to come from behind and take the opening game 7-5.

Three RiverHawks had two hits, and Cody Robinson had a team-leading two RBI. Hayden Walch (0-2) took the loss after throwing 2 1/3 innings of relief work.

Robinson drove in three runs in the second game. Trent Wilkins, Chad Davidson and Preston Cash all collected two hits. Addison Williams (1-0) relieved starter Wilson Klutts — who lasted just an inning, walking four — and earned the win after throwing the next 4 2/3  frames. He allowed two runs (one earned) on two hits.

The games were bumped up a day due to today’s bad weather forecast. The weekend series with

Truman State has been moved from Kirkville, Mo., to Tahlequah with a single game on Friday and a noon doubleheader on Saturday.

BACONE 14-6, MID-AMERICA 5-11 — A seventh-inning grand slam by Muskogee’s Antonio Horn powered the Bacone College Warriors to a 14-5 victory against Mid-America Christian Univeristy in the first game of a doubleheader at Warrior Field on Tuesday. Bacone, however, lost the second game 11-6 for a split.

Kyandi Ortiz (1-0) was the winning pitcher in the opener. Anthony Seabolt singled three times and scored three runs, while Tony Mendez, Eric Folkers and Wade Morten each added two hits.

In nightcap, Pete Rodriguez had two hits and Allen Reimer (1-1) was the losing pitcher.

The Warriors (8-6) begin Red River Athletic Conference play at noon Friday at home against Texas Wesleyan.

OSU 11-8, ALCORN STATE 3-1 — Oklahoma State used a pair of strong performances out of its starting pitchers to propel it to a doubleheader sweep of Alcorn State Tuesday at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium as the Cowboys claimed an 11-3 win in their 2013 home opener before an 8-1 triumph in the nightcap.

In the opener, sophomore Jon Perrin earned his first-career win as he worked 6.1 innings and allowed just one earned run while striking out five. Senior Kenton Bevacqua followed suit in game two with identical numbers for his first win of the season to help OSU improve to 4-1.

Junior Tanner Krietemeier continued his hot hitting as the reigning Big 12 Conference Newcomer of the Week was 5-for-9 with four RBIs in the two games.

OU 4-11, UAPB 2-1 — Adam Choplick threw five innings of one-hit ball to help Oklahoma defeat Arkansas-Pine Bluff in a doubleheader at L. Dale Mitchell Park in Norman Tuesday. The Sooners won 4-2 and 11-1 to improve to 6-0 for the season.

Chopelick, a 6-foot-8 freshman, struck out six batters and didn’t walk any in throwing 65 pitches. Matt Oberste, Kolbey Carpenter and Hunter Haley each had two hits for OU in the opener.

In the nightcap, Dillon Overton (2-0) was the winning pitcher as OU had 12 hits. Oberste, who is from Sallisaw, had two more hits.

CONNORS BUMPED — An inclement forecast for Wednesday has Connors State’s game with Bacone, originally scheduled for Wednesday, reslated for 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Biff Thompson Field.
