OU beaten by Louisville

NORMAN – The No. 11 Oklahoma’s women’s basketball team fell to No. 5 Louisville, 97-92 in overtime, in the Preseason WNIT Championship game Sunday.

Oklahoma’s Aaryn Ellenberg recorded a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Sharane Campbell had 19 points as five Sooners reached double digits.

Louisville’s Asia Taylor and Sara Hammond (MVP) and Oklahoma’s Campbell and Ellenberg were named to the Preseason WNIT All-Tournament Team.

Tulsa women dump Lamar

BEAUMONT, Texas – Four Tulsa players scored in double figures to lead the Golden Hurricane to a 68-67 lead over Lamar on Sunday afternoon at the Montagne Center in Beaumont, Texas.  TU moved to 1-1 on the season, while the Cardinals moved to 2-2 overall.

Kadan Brady led the Golden Hurricane with 13 points, including three treys, while Mariah Turner and Ashley Clark both contributed 12 points, and Liesl Spoerl added 11 points.  Turner and Loren McDaniel led Tulsa with seven rebounds, while Clark had six assists, and Clark and Grovey each had three steals.

TU men’s soccer fall in title match

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Tulsa's bid for its fifth Conference USA Men’s Soccer title fell short as the host Charlotte 49ers claimed a 1-0 victory on Sunday afternoon at Transamerica Field.

Charlotte (12-5-3), the sixth-seed in the tournament, received C-USA’s automatic bid with the victory, while the fifth-seeded Hurricane (11-6-3) will find out its NCAA future on Monday when the Championship field will be announced.
