OKLAHOMA ST. 7, W. VIRGINIA 4 — OSU (26-10, 8-4 Big 12) scored four times in the first inning, once in the fifth and added two more runs in the eighth to cap a three-game sweep at Morgantown, W. Va. The Cowboys’ Zach Fish drove in four runs while Vince Wheeland (3-0) allowed only an unearned run in 6 1/3 innings of relief to pick up the win. Brendan McCurry threw a scoreless ninth for his ninth save of the season. West Virginia falls to 16-15 on the season and 2-6 in the conference.
TEXAS 7, OKLAHOMA 2 — A four-run fourth made it 5-1 and the Longhorns (28-8,8-3 Big 12) outhit the Sooners 10-8 and swept the three-game series. Austin O’Brien (2-for-4) was the only multi-hit Sooner. The fatal fourth chased Adam Choplick (3-2), who allowed seven hits and five runs, all earned.
ARKANSAS 10, LSU 4 — Freshman Blake Baxendale carried Arkansas (22-15, 7-8 SEC) at the plate with a grand slam in the first inning for his first career home run, before adding a run-scoring double in the fifth inning for a career-high five RBI day against the Tigers (27-9-1, 8-6-1) in Baton Rouge, La. TULSA 8, E. CAROLINA 3 — Shelby Blanton went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and Erica Sampson hit her eighth home run of the year as TU (38-5, 11-2 C-USA) won the rubber game of the three-game series.
Senior Aimee Creger (19-1) picked up her second win of the series, tossing nine strikeouts and allowing two earned runs on seven hits in a complete-game effort. East Carolina fell to 21-17 and 10-8.
BAYLOR 8, OKLAHOMA 6 — A 14-game win streak and an unblemished Big 12 record ended for the Sooners (23-19, 9-1), who remain 1 1/2 games ahead of Texas in the league standings. Kelsey Stevens suffered the loss in relief, snapping a string of wins in her previous eight appearances, to drop to 23-6 on the year. Whitney Ellis was 1-for-3 with three RBIs.
