NSU (W) 2, WASHBURN 0 – The Northeastern State women’s soccer team defeated Washburn Sunday afternoon at DeLoache Field to close out the regular season.
The RiverHawks (15-3-0, 8-3-0 MIAA) clinched the No. 2 seed in the MIAA Championship, while the Ichabods (9-8-1, 6-4-1 MIAA) finished fourth in the regular-season standings.
With the victory and a subsequent draw in Edmond between Emporia State and Central Oklahoma, NSU will host No. 7-seed ESU at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the MIAA quarterfinals.
TU (M) 2, FIU 0 – Kyle Cumings and Bryce Follensbee both netted goals for Tulsa men’s soccer team en route to a 2-0 win over FIU on Sunday.
TU moved to 8-5-3 on the season and 3-3-2 in Conference USA, while the Panthers fell to 6-9-1 overall and 2-5-1 in the league.
KANSAS ST. 3, OU 0 – The University of Oklahoma volleyball team dropped its match to Kansas State on Sunday evening by scores of 25-22, 29-27 and 25-22. The Sooners fell to 18-6 overall and 6-4 in the Big 12, while the Wildcats improved to 15-7 and 3-6.
For Oklahoma, Sallie McLaurin led the attack with 13 kills and a .423 hitting percentage. She also added a match-high nine blocks on one solo and eight assists for her second highest total of the season.
ARKANSAS 3, OLE MISS 0 – The University of Arkansas volleyball team registered a season-high .434 hitting percentage en route to a straight-set victory over Ole Miss (25-19, 25-20, 25-23) Sunday afternoon at Barnhill Arena.
The Razorbacks’ offensive output is their highest against an SEC opponent since the 2006 season and ranks fourth on the program’s all-time list. With Sunday’s result, Arkansas improves to 14-10 overall and 7-6 in conference play.
Five different Razorbacks had at least five kills against Ole Miss, paced by a match-high 12 from junior Meredith Hays and nine from redshirt freshman Ana Sofia Jusino. Defensively, freshman Breana Jones had a career-high seven total blocks.
