MID-AMERICA 111, BACONE (M) 73 – The Bacone Warriors were unable to stop the offensive explosionby Mid-America Christian on Tuesday, falling to 0-2 on the season.

For the game, the Warriors knocked down 36 percent (22 of 60) but hit only four-of-17 three-point attempts and committed 33 turnovers.

Derrick Thomas paced Bacone with 15 points, Creed Flowers added 14 and Geo Brewer finished with 12.

CONNORS (M) 70, ARKANSAS BAPTIST 67 – Connors State, in its first road test of the season, crossed into the state of Arkansas and returned home with a victory over Arkansas Baptist.

The Cowboys will take a 2-0 record into tonight’s 7 p.m. clash with Southwestern Christian at Melvin Self Field House.

Terrance Carroll, Kris Brown and Corlbe Evrin led the Cowboys’offensive assault with 12 points each, while Willie Atwood, who got into early foul trouble, scored 11 points.

ARKANSAS (M) 81, NSU 54 – Coty Clarke had 16 points and Anthlon Bell added 15 as Arkansas pulled away in the second half for an exhibition win over Northeastern State on Tuesday.

Alandise Harris also finished in double figures with 10 points and eight rebounds for the Razorbacks, who shot 59.4 percent (19 of 32) in the second half after connecting on just 12 of 39 shots (30.8 percent) in the first half.

Keon Littleton led Northeastern State with 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting, while fellow junior guard Michael Harmon added 10 points. Northeastern State’s returning All-American guard, Bryton Hobbs, was just 1-for-13 in the game and finished with five points, seven rebounds and five turnovers.

NORTH ARKANSAS 94, CONNORS (W) 83 – North Arkansas led from start to finish in defeating Connors State Cowgirls 94-83 Tuesday night at Melvin Self Field House.

The Lady Pioneers rolled to a 44-35 lead at the half and increased its lead to 25 points, 75-50, its largest of the game behind the hot shooting of Jordan Cottengim, who finished with 20 points, midway the second half.

Heather Marshall and Destinee Thrash led the Cowgirls with 19 and 15 points respectively.

Trailing Cottengim in the North Arkansas scoring was Kelsey Cotton and Jaimie Villines with 11 points each and Demi Hargrove added 10 more.

OU (W) 96, UCO 37 – The Oklahoma women’s basketball team defeated the University of Central Oklahoma in its exhibition finale at the Lloyd Noble Center, using a stifling defense to pull away from the Bronchos with a 37-0 first-half scoring run.

OU led 11-6 with 16 minutes, 43 seconds remaining in the first half.  UCO didn’t score again until Brittany Lancaster made two free throws with six seconds remaining in the period.

Kaylon Williams had game highs with 18 points, eight rebounds and two blocks while Aaryn Ellenberg totaled 16 points.
