From a Web site to a grand jury, a local man hopes to push through a plan to investigate the federal government.

Jerry Pippin, 66, host of a streaming Internet radio show at www.bushbusiness.com, said Oklahoma law is on his side. With enough signatures on a petition, he and his fellow activists can go to a district judge and ask for a grand jury.

“We want the courts to make a special prosecutor who will donate his time to investigate things like the voter fraud and kickbacks,” he said.

The Citizens Committee for Impanelment of a Presidential Grand Jury Probe has an office downstairs at ShadowWood Mall on Broadway where people can sign the petition.

A U.S. Army veteran, Pippin grew up in Muskogee and now spends a lot of time in Las Vegas. He said he’s worried about a corrupt federal government.

“People see the little guy doesn’t have a chance to expand anymore,” he said. “We’re spending millions every day on defense, but we’re not getting our money’s worth.”

Muskogee County District Attorney John David Luton said there is a provision in state law that allows a citizen petition asking a district judge for a grand jury. But he thinks this situation is unusual.

“I’ve never seen a federal law challenged by a grand jury,” he said. “Any grand jury that is called, the DA in the county runs the grand jury unless he or she is the focus.”

Pippin said his Web site got eight million hits in August, and 150,000 people are listening to his Internet radio show each week.
