OKTAHA SPLITS TWO — In a three-way at Park Hill, Oktaha (7-1) beat Okay 17-0 in a game shortened to four innings on the run rule and lost 3-2 to Keys.

In the win over Okay, the Tigers’ Daniel Hayes had two hits and drove in four runs, while Cale Elam drove in three runs. Derek Ellison, Steven Downum and Derrick Skinner each had two hits. Winning pitcher Brandon Vogt (2-0) threw a three-hitter.

In the loss to Keys, losing pitcher Ellison struck out 10 batters and scattered six hits. Sean Leach and Downum had two hits each.

Winning pitcher Blake Blakeley struck out eight batters as Keys stayed unbeaten at 11-0.

TAHLEQUAH WINS TWO — The Tigers (3-3) defeated Tulsa Edison 13-2 and Tulsa Hale 9-8 Friday to advance to the finals of the Catoos Tournament.

Dusten Knight (2-0) was the winning pitcher in the first game as he had two hits and scored twice. Greg Jackson had three hits, scored twice and drove in two runs. Philip Corres had a home run as the Tigers had 15 hits in the game.

In the win over Hale, Taylor Tannehill, one of four pitchers used by coach Brett Hamby, was the winner for his first decision of the season.

Tahlequah plays at 5 p.m. today for the tournament title.

HILLDALE LOSES TWICE — Playing in the Collinsville Tournament at Sapulpa, the Hornets dropped to 4-6 for the season after losing twice Friday in falling 14-5 to Jay and 7-2 to Sapulpa.

The Hornets, which lost 4-3 to Adair Thursday, return to action in the Collinsville Tournament at 11 a.m. today against Pawhuska in Collinsville.

Shawn Bass (1-2) was the starting and losing pitcher in the loss to Jay. Clint Breedlove relieved him in the second inning. John Frisby (1-2) pitched a complete-game loss against Sapulpa.
