Bacone’s Long tops in conference

Bacone shortstop Sasha Long was selected along with College of the Southwest’s Ashley Turner as Red River Athletic Conference Co-Players of the Year, it was announced this week.
Long, a sophomore from Pryor, hit .405 and led the team in home runs with 15 and RBIs with 63.
Also, Bacone freshman pitcher Robin Christenson was named Newcomer of the Year. The Mounds graduate was 18-15 with three saves and a 2.63 ERA.
Alex Ramirez, a sophomore second baseman, and Lindsey Glass, a senior catcher, were also named to the team. Ramirez’s .481 batting average was a team high. She also had a team-high 62 runs scored and also 17 doubles. Glass, a Kansas High School grad, hit .342, scored 41 runs and drove in 53 runs. She led the team with 15 stolen bases.
Bacone finished the season 30-29 and second in the RRAC with a 19-5 mark.
