Scoring six runs in the first inning and nine more in the next three, the Sperry Pirates hammered the Beggs Golden Demons 15-2 to win the Class 3A state baseball championship at Shawnee High School’s Ed Skelton Field on Monday.
Coached by Muskogee native and 1963 Muskogee Central graduate, Bill Fisher, the Pirates, ranked No. 1 in the final Okrankings.com poll, finish the season at 34-3 by winning the title game after five innings on the run rule.
