COLUMBUS, Ohio — Kevin Tway of Oklahoma State shot a 2-under par 69 Friday to take over the lead at the Division I Central Regional men’s golf tournament at the Scarlet Course at The Ohio State University. Tway has a two-round total of 3-under 139, two strokes better than Wake Forest’s Brendan Gielow. Gielow has a two-day total of 141. In Friday’s round, Tway had five birdies including three straight in the 11th through 13th holes. He also birdied the No. 1 and No. 15 holes. The son of touring professional Bob Tway shot a 1-under 70 in the first round. Oklahoma State (592) is tied for sixth place and Wake Forest leads (577) with the third and final round being played today. Other OSU golfers and their scores include Trent Leon (71-74—145) tied for eighth, Rickie Fowler (74-771—151) tied for 59th, Mark Johnson (78-79—157) tied for 115th and Sallisaw’s Trent Whitekiller (79-83—162) tied for 132nd. The tourney ends today. Meanwhile, Arkansas has a team of score of 608 and tied for 22nd through the two rounds and will not qualify for the finals. David Lingmeth is the Razorbacks’ top golfer (75-74—149) and tied for 37th. Elsewhere for Arkansas, Andrew Landry is tied for 50th (78-72—150), Jason Turner (74-79—153) is tied for 81st, Samuel Chavez (77-79—156) is tied for 103rd and Will Osburne (78-80–158) is tied for 120th. Two OU golfers tied BREMERTON, Wash. — Phillip Bryan and Liam Logan are part of a seven-way tie for seventh place in the NCAA Division I West Regional men’s tournament at Gold Mountain Golf Club.
