OSU pitcher wins Big 12 honor

— IRVING, Texas (AP) — Oklahoma State sophomore Tyler Lyons has been named as the Big 12 Conference’s pitcher of the week.
Lyons, from Lubbock, Texas, threw a complete game — his fourth of the season — on Saturday as the Cowboys beat Oklahoma 11-1 in Oklahoma City. Lyons allowed six hits and one unearned run while striking out nine, one shy of his career high.
The win improved Lyons’ season record to 10-2. He is the first Oklahoma State pitcher to reach the 10-win level since 2005.
