Sports calendar of events, 6-28
The Sports Calendar runs each Sunday and Thursday. Send entries by fax to 684-2865, mail to 214 Wall Street, Muskogee 74401, bring by the Phoenix anytime Monday through Friday or e-mail it to sports@muskogeephoenix.com. Information will not be taken by phone. Items to run in Sunday’s paper must be submitted before noon Friday, and for Thursday’s paper, noon on Tuesday.
Baseball TOURNAMENTS • USSSA World Series at Love-Hatbox Sports Complex, 9-under and 10-under Double-A, July 13. Contact: Marie Gassaway, 682-3745. • Frank Hair Memorial Tournament in Pryor, July 2-5. Must be age before May 1. Football CAMPS • 4 Love of the Game, an organization dedicated to enhancing athletic performance for Native American youth, will host a a Day of Champions Football Camp for boys and girls ages 8-14, June 29-July 1 in Holdenville and July 2-4 in Dewar, both featuring former Oklahoma quarterback Josh Heupel. Also: Elite Running Backs Camp, July 26-27, in Dewar. Admission is free but limited to the first 125 Native American youth with an optional $30 fee for camp shirt and photo.
