Sports Calendar
The Sports Calendar runs each Sunday and Thursday. Send entries by fax to 684-2865, mail to 214 Wall Street, Muskogee 74401, bring by the Phoenix anytime Monday through Friday or e-mail it to sports@muskogeephoenix.com. Information will not be taken by phone. Items to run in Sunday’s paper must be submitted before noon Friday, and for Thursday’s paper, noon on Tuesday.
Baseball TOURNAMENTS Joplin, Mo.’s Four Season Sports Complex, various youth tournaments in July. Contact: info@fourseasonssport.com. Pryor Youth Baseball sponsors 29th Annual Frank Hair Memorial Tournament, July 3-6. Divisions include T-ball (6-under), coach-pitch (8-under), peewee (10-under) and midget (12-under). Boxing EVENTS The Original Toughman Contest returns to the Muskogee Civic Center at 8 p.m. July 18-19. Cheerleading CAMPS Rougher Cheer Clinic for Muskogee youth cheerleaders, July 7-11 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Cost is $40 per child, all participants will receive a T-shirt. Contact: Kim Rosson, 348-8502.
Cycling EVENTS Dehydrator Bicycle Race and Ride, 8 a.m., July 26 in Duncan. Entry fee: $20 per person or $35 per tandem team through July 22, when an additional $5 will be required. Football CAMPS Muskogee Youth Football Clinic at West High Fields from 7-9 p.m., beginning on July 21 and ending on July 24. Clinic is free to participants from the Muskogee Youth Football League. EVENTS The University of Tulsa football coaching staff will conduct the Annual Football 101 Clinic for women and men, 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Case Athletic Complex and H.A. Chapman Stadium. Miscellaneous PHYSICALS Free athletic physicals for Tahlequah Public Schools boys and girls grades 7-12 will be given at 6 p.m. Aug. 4-5 at the Tahlequah Middle School cafeteria. Physical packets may be picked up after Aug. 1 at the athletics office at the high school. Physicals are mandatory for athletic participation.
