NEW YORK (AP) — Two baseball players with Oklahoma ties have been selected for the National League's team for the All-Star game.

Pitcher Ryan Franklin of the St. Louis Cardinals will join infielder Freddy Sanchez of the Pittsburgh Pirates on the NL squad, which was announced Sunday.

Franklin is from Spiro, while Sanchez starred at Oklahoma City University.

Outfielder Matt Kemp of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who is from Midwest City, could join Sanchez and Franklin on the NL team. He's one of five candidates for the final spot on the squad, which will be determined by Internet voting.
