OKTAHA — It is beginning to look like no one can compete with Greg Skaggs at Outlaw Motor Speedway.
The Bixby driver took the lead on lap six from Jeran Frailey and then set sail to his third straight Outlaw Modified feature win in racing here Friday night. It was his track-leading 10th victory of the year.
Once Skaggs, who started on the sixth row outside, got around Frailey, he made a mockery of the race until a pair of caution flags with five laps remaining brought the field back to him. The final caution, for Joe Wright’s stalled car in turn two, came with two laps remaining.
On the single-file restart, he thundered ahead of Muskogee’s Tate Cole to get an advantage going into turn one. From there, he pulled away from Cole and the field to win with ease.
Cole held off Frailey for second and Chad Davis was fourth behind Frailey.

Brian Scroggins held off a furious charge by Dale Richardson to win the feature that was stopped twice for accidents and cautioned five times for four others.
The race was halted on lap 11 when Brookin Stephens slammed hard into Jess Simms on the back stretch. An ambulance was summoned for Simms, but he did not require treatment. His car got sideways coming out of turn two in front of Stephens, who had no place to go.
The other race stoppage came when four cars got together in turns three and four blocking the track. When everything was untangled, three of the cars remained in the race. No one was injured.
Scroggins won his first feature of the year while at the same time denying Richardson his third consecutive win and ninth of the year. The Muskogee driver has been one of the fastest drivers since returning to the track four weeks ago after going on vacation.
Richardson, starting at the rear of the pack, was less than a car length behind Scroggins with three laps remaining. But the winner had just enough car to stay in front.
Super Modified
William Gould had one of the hottest cars in the field, sprinting to his second feature win of the year. The Fort Smith driver, who also pilots an Outlaw Modified, took the lead on lap four — after a caution — and he never trailed from there.
Eight caution flags after Gould took the lead kept him from at least lapping the slower cars in the race. After each restart, he re-established a three-to-six second lead. He was in front by five seconds at the conclusion.
There were only nine cars of the 17 that started the race on the track at the checkered flag.
Mike Northrup was second with J.D. Jackson finishing third.

Starting on the inside in row five, Muskogee’s Matt Burnett fought his way to the lead on lap nine and then smoked the field to capture his second feature win of the season.
Burnett took the lead from Muskogee’s Darien Austin with a move through turn two to gain good track position down the backstretch.
A caution on lap 11 (for a tail pipe on the track) allowed the field to close on Bennett for the restart, but he was up to the challenge. He zipped to a three-car lead on the green flag and finished that distance ahead of Austin. Jason Ward overtookChouteau’s Brandie Levassuer for third in the final two laps.
