STILLWATER (AP) — Former Oklahoma A&M basketball star Roy Carberry has died.
Oklahoma State University says Carberry died Saturday at his home in Stillwater at age 71.
A member of Guthrie High School’s 1954 state championship basketball team, Carberry was a three-year letterman at Oklahoma A&M under coach Henry Iba. Carberry also played baseball and lettered in track during his senior year at OSU.
After college, he served in the Army and worked for Conoco’s Continental Pipeline Division.
In 1989, he purchased the Mail Boxes Etc. franchise and established stores throughout the state before retiring in 2002.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church in Stillwater.
