Sports Calendar: 9-28



The Sports Calendar runs each Sunday and Thursday. Send entries by fax to 684-2865, mail to 214 Wall Street, Muskogee 74401, bring by the Phoenix anytime Monday through Friday or e-mail it to sports@muskogeephoenix.com. Information will not be taken by phone. Items to run in Sunday’s paper must be submitted before noon Friday, and for Thursday’s paper, noon on Tuesday.

Baseball
CAMPS
• Coast to Coast Baseball tryout and hitting camp for ages 10-18, Oct. 4, with the opportunity to represent the nation in competition in Puerto Rico or work with top college coaches and pro scouts at a Florida-based camp and showcase event. Tryouts will be at 10 a.m. and the hitting camp at 2 p.m. at the Oklahoma City University baseball field. Cost: $25 for tryouts, $50 for the camp or a combo price of $65. Basketball
TOURNAMENTS
• MAYB Tournaments, grades 3-12 boys and girls. Various locations regionally and nationwide. Contact: 316-284-0354 or mayb@mayb.com.
• United Keetowah Band of Cherokee Indians will host a 3-on-3 tournament, Oct. 4 in Tahlequah. Youth divisions 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18 and adult men and women. Proof of age for youth divisions required. Entry fee: $75 adult teams and $35 for youth. One non-Indian player allowed per team. Deadline: 5 p.m. Oct. 1. Amanda Stopp, 453-9375 or 822-3586.
OFFICIALS
• Muskogee Area Basketball Officials will meet Tuesdays beginning Sept. 30 at the Muskogee Central fire station training room at 505 Columbus Ave. All coaches, basketball officials and anyone else interested in becoming an official are encouraged to attend.
