DALLAS (AP) — The Red River Rivalry between No. 1 Oklahoma and fifth-ranked Texas will provide the backdrop for ESPN’s College Gameday program this week.
The show is generally filmed on a college campus where a featured college football game is played, but it will move into the State Fair of Texas this week.
The cable network announced Monday that it will broadcast the first hour of Saturday’s television show from outside the Cotton Bowl and the second hour from the field inside the Dallas stadium.
The rivalry game is back in the national spotlight this year as the Sooners and Longhorns are both in the top five at game time for the first time since 2004.
Last year, both teams lost the week prior to the Red River game.
