From staff reports

Vian 56, Keys 15
VIAN
— Vian remained in the driver’s seat for the District 2A-8 title with a big win over Keys.

The Wolverines put the game out of reach early with 35 points in the first quarter en route to a 49-0 halftime lead.

Dylan Taylor finished with 139 yards rushing and three touchdowns on just eight carries. He also added a punt return for a score.

David Thornton scored twice for the Wolverines — one on a pass and another on a 24-yard fumble return.

Vian moves to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in the district. If the Wolverines beat Chouteau at home Friday, they’ll win the district title.

Sequoyah 50, Adair 13
ADAIR
— Adair scored first and last, but Sequoyah was too much in the middle as the Indians kept their hopes alive for a District 2A-8 crown.

Brian Salazar scored three touchdowns — including a 55-yard interception return — and Garrett Drapeau threw for two touchdowns and ran for another.

Sequoyah moves to 8-1 overall and 5-1 in the district.

Checotah 48, Idabel 0
IDABEL
— Checotah’s perfect season lives on with another rout.

The Wildcats scored in every quarter, putting the game out of reach early with 21 points in the first quarter.

Checotah moves to 9-0 overall and will win the District 3A-4 championship with a win at home over Hugo next Friday.

PORUM
— Warner took control of a close game with 19 third-quarter points.

Dalton Hawkins carried the Eagles to the win, rushing for 222 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries. He also turned the game around with an 80-yard kickoff return after Porum cut the lead to 21-14.

Porum’s Mike Turpin ran for 150 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries, while Will Olson had 180 yards on 18 carries. Olson set up the Panthers’ third-quarter score with a 65-yard run.

Cody McBride and Cody Taber combined to rusn for 183 yards. McBride ran for two touchdowns and threw for another. McBride added 122 yards passing.

Marcus Bruner had a touchdown rushing and receiving for the Pirates.

Porter moves to 8-1 overall and 6-1 in District B-4.

Haskell 28, Pawnee 26
PAWNEE
— Facing a must-win situation to keep its playoff hopes alive, Haskell came through.

Two extra points by Ashley Dry were the difference.

Haskell bolted to a 21-0 lead behind two touchdowns by Jordan Pendergraft — one rushing and one passing — sandwiched around a punt return for a touchdown by J.D. McCoy.

McCoy later caught a 56-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter for the winning touchdown.

Haskell moves to 5-4 overall and 5-3 in A-7. The Haymakers play Hominy next week, with the winner making the playoffs.

Eufaula 41, Morris 26
EUFAULA
— Eufaula pulled away from Morris with 13 points in the fourth quarter.

Clinging to a 28-26 lead midway through the final quarter, Ethan Sharp and Justin Burns hooked up twice for touchdowns in the final stretch.

Eufaula moves to 8-1 overall and 6-0 in District 2A-5. The Ironheads play for the district title next week at Chandler.

Bokoshe 30, Webbers Falls 24
BOKOSHE
— Bokoshe scored 24 points in the fourth quarter — including the game-winning touchdown with 1:11 left — to shock Webbers Falls.

The Warriors had built a 24-6 lead heading into the final quarter behind a stout defense — which contributed a safety — and the passing of Chad Dandridge. Dandridge passed for two touchdowns. A.J. McFarland had a receiving touchdown and one on the ground.

Midway 54, Sasakwa 6
COUNCIL HILL
— Alex Carroll threw for 228 yards and four touchdowns, and Midway remained in control of a first-round home playoff game with the mercy-rule victory.
