Lake report

As reported Wednesday by the state Department of Wildlife Conservation and lake rangers

NORTHEAST:

Ft. Gibson: Elevation 2 1/2 feet above normal and steady. Stripers are breaking the surface below the damn and some nice ones are being caught on rattle traps, red fins and live shad. Catfish are still being caught on night crawlers and cut shad. Crappie are slow under the docks and in deep brush piles. Largemouth bass are still biting using crankbaits and plastic baits in shallow water. Report submitted by Rick Stafford with 3riverguideservice.com.

Greenleaf: Elevation normal, water clear. Largemouth bass fair on deep-diving bill baits, jigs and worms along creek channels and rocky points. Catfish fair on cut baits on bottom. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around fishing docks and brush structure. Report submitted by Lark Wilson, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

Keystone: Elevation 1/2 foot above normal, water murky. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits and jig and chunkbaits at 2-6 feet in creeks and sunny banks along channel swings in coves. Smallmouth bass fair on jig and chunkbaits and crankbaits at 5-10 feet around secondary gravel points. Spotted bass fair on jig and chunkbaits and crankbaits at 4-8 feet around steep rocky banks. White bass fair on minnows, jigs and spoons at 4-8 feet below the dam and around windy points. Striped bass good on bucktails and sassy shad at 2-5 feet below the dam. Channel catfish fair on liver and worms at 6-10 feet in creeks and coves. Blue catfish good on cut shad and punchbaits at 6-10 feet below the dam, in deep creeks and mouths of coves. Flathead catfish slow on live shad and goldfish at 6-10 feet below the dam and along steep rocky points. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 15-20 feet around brush piles, docks and ledges. Lower Illinois: Elevation normal, water 59 and clear. Largemouth bass slow on large minnows and live baits around brush piles and structure all along the river. Striped bass slow on topwater lures and live baits in deeper holes all along the river. Channel catfish fair on cut baits on bottom all along the river. Trout slow on power baits on bottom above Gore Landing. Report submitted by D. Tracy, Town of Gore.

Webbers Falls: Elevation normal, water murky. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits in riprap and creek channels. Catfish fair on stinkbaits and cut baits on bottom in the mud flats. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around brush structure and bridges. Report submitted by Lark Wilson, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

SOUTHEAST:

Eufaula: Elevation 1 foot below normal, water clear. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits in rocky areas. White bass slow. Blue catfish fair on fresh shad drifting the shallow flats. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs in brush piles under docks and standing timber. Report submitted by Ed Rodebush, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

Robert S. Kerr: Elevation normal, water 56 and murky. Largemouth bass fair on plastic baits and spinnerbaits in the woody cover next to the old creek channels. Crappie fair on minnows at 10 feet in old creek channels. Blue catfish good on fresh cut shad, worms and minnows at 3-10 feet in the standing timber in the lake.
