The outdoor calendar runs every Friday. Items should be submitted by fax 684-2865, e-mail at sports@muskogeephoenix.com or submitted in writing to the Phoenix at 214 Wall Street during business hours (9 a.m. to 5 p.m.). Items must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday for inclusion in the next calendar.

Crow — Dec. 9 to March 4.
Rabbit — Cottontail and swamp, Oct. 1-March 15; Jackrabbit Oct. 1-March 15 west of Interstate 35 only.
Wild turkey — Archery, Oct. 1- Jan. 15; spring 2009, April 6-May 6 and youth 2009, April 4-5.

NORTHEAST:
Fort Gibson: Elevation 1 1/2 ft. above normal and stained. Largemouth bass good in the shallows working crankbaits, plastics and spinnerbaits; try working them slow the fish have slowed some with water temps going down. Crappie biting under docks and deep brush. Stripers being caught on rattletraps and live shad below the dam. Report submitted by Rick Stafford with www.3riverguideservice.com
Grand: Elevation normal, water 55 degrees and murky. Largemouth bass good on rattletraps and six inch worms at 5 to 7 ft. Smallmouth bass fair on small spinnerbaits in the rivers. White bass good on spinnerbaits and slab spoons at 8 to 15 ft. Catfish good on shad, goldfish and night crawlers at 40 to 50 ft. Crappie good on minnows and chartreuse jigs at 8 to 15 ft. around docks and brush piles. Report submitted by Sam, Grand Lake Sports Center.
Greenleaf: Elevation normal, water clear. Largemouth bass crankbaits and spinnerbaits in creek channels and rocky points. Catfish fair on cut baits on bottom. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around docks and brush structure. Report submitted by Lark Wilson, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.
Hudson: Elevation normal. Largemouth bass fair to good on plastic baits. Crappie fair to good on minnows and jigs. Report submitted by Steve Loveland, game warden stationed in Rogers and Mayes Counties.
Keystone: Elevation 3/4 ft. above normal, water clear to murky. Largemouth bass fair on jig and chunkbaits and crankbaits at 5 to 10 ft. along sunny clay banks in coves and creek channel bends. Smallmouth bass fair on jig and chunkbaits and crankbaits at 5 to 10 ft. along sloping gravel points. Spotted bass fair on jig and chunkbaits and crankbaits at 5 to 10 ft. along sunny, rocky banks. White bass fair on spoons, spinnerbaits and minnows at 5 to 10 ft. around points and below the dam. Striped bass good on bucktails and jerk baits worked slowly at 3 to 6 ft. below the dam. Channel catfish fair on liver at 5 to 10 ft. midway back in coves and creeks. Blue catfish good on cut shad at 5 to 10 ft. in flats along creek channels in coves. Flathead catfish fair on live shad and goldfish at 5 to 10 ft. below the dam and around mouths of deep coves. Crappie fair on minnows and blue and white jigs at 8 to 15 ft. around docks and brush piles in coves. Report submitted by Woody’s Bait and Tackle.
Tenkiller: Elevation normal, water 62 degrees and clear. Crappie good in docks on minnows or jigs at 10 to 15 ft. Sunfish good in docks on night crawlers at 5 to 10 ft. Report by Monte Brooks Cookson Village Resort.
Webbers Falls: Elevation normal, water murky. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits and spinnerbaits in riprap and creek channels. Catfish fair on cut baits and stinkbaits on bottom and mud flats. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around bridges and brush structure. Report submitted by Lark Wilson, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.
SOUTHEAST:
Eufaula: Elevation 1 1/2 ft. below normal, water clear. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits in rocky areas and windy points. Blue catfish fair on fresh shad drifting the shallow flats. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs around brush piles under boat docks and standing timber in main lake areas. Report submitted by Ed Rodebush, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.
Robert S. Kerr: Elevation normal, water 52 degrees and murky. Crappie fair on minnows at 10 ft. around the edges of the old creek channels. Blue catfish good on fresh cut bait, worms and minnows at 3 to 8 ft. in standing timber used by the cormorants. Report submitted by Rick Olzawski, game warden stationed in Haskell County.
