NSU women's golf in fourth

— FORT SMITH, Ark. – The Northeastern State women’s golf team is tied for fourth place after Monday’s opening round of the UAFS Lions Classic. The tournament is being held on the par-70, 5,829-yard Hardscrabble Country Club.

 NSU battled sub-40-degree temperatures and winds that ranged between 15-25 mph.

 Senior Whitney McAteer sits in fourth place individually after shooting a 6-over-par round of 78, while senior Kelsey Kirkpatrick is tied for fifth place with a seven-over 79.

Freshman McCandren Lewis shot an 86 to tie in the 24th spot. Sophomore Alex Koch completed a 15-over par round of 87 to tie in 27th place. Freshman Kayla Schroeder shot a 93 on the day to tie for 39th place.
