Vian’s Rob Boyd was one of two players from Oklahoma that were selected to play in the seventh annual Offense-Defense All-American Bowl held last Sunday in Houston, Texas.
The game, held in Reliant Stadium, featured high school seniors from all around the United States.
Boyd, the 2012 All-Phoenix Small School Offensive Player of the Year, was on the National team that was victorious over the American team 20-9. Boyd’s coach in the game was former Dallas Cowboys cornerback, and Super Bowl XXX MVP, Larry Brown.
“He gave me some valuable advice as did all my coaches,” Boyd said. “He told me to enjoy the experience and continue to work hard.”
Boyd, who verbally committed to Tulsa last March, was also grateful to have the experience to go up against some really good talent, something he feels will help him improve.
“I got to play offensive guard and face some good defensive players,” he said.” It was a lot of fun and a thrilling experience.”
