The outdoor calendar runs every Friday. Items must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday for inclusion in the next calendar.
Saturday – Oklahoma Furbearers Association Fur Sale at Chandler Expo Center. All wild furs are accepted, furs can be stretched and dried, green or on the carcass. Feb. 8-9 – Illinois River Fly Fishing School, Tenkiller State Park community center. Cost: $150 with orientation at 8 a.m. Friday. Hourly sessions through Saturday morning. The clinic will offer in depth information on equipment, tackle assembly, knots, flies, casting, and tactics and will include on-stream fishing instruction. Fly rods available for loan on Saturday, but participants who own their own gear are encouraged to bring it. Meals for the event are available for $30 or participants can provide their own. Feb. 13 — Bass Techniques is a series of four face-to-face sessions, beginning Wednesday, Feb. 13 and continuing Wednesday, Feb. 20, Tuesday, Feb. 26 and Monday, March 4 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Tulsa Community College. The classroom setting where participants can learn first-hand from five of America’s top professional anglers as the 2013 Bassmaster Classic approaches. Those who will teach are Bassmaster veteran Tommy Biffle of Wagoner, Grand Lake guide Ivan Martin and former BASS pro Jim Morton. Cost: $99. To enroll: (918) 595-7200.

March 3 – Murray State High School Fishing Open, Murray, Ky., in partnership with FLW, The Bass Federation (TBF) and the Bluegrass State Games. The winning team will receive a $2,000 scholarship to attend Murray State. Teams can register online at register.highschoolfishing.org.
July 14-20 — The Bass Federation high school fishing world finals, Russellville, Ark. The event will introduce a new tournament format, which will include an additional day of competition, a semi final round and qualifying up to 22 teams into the finals, including 10 teams from a last chance qualifier to be held the Friday before the final day of competition.
