LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. — The Northeastern State women’s golf team sits in seventh place out of 18 teams after day one of the Grand Canyon Women’s Invitational. The tournament is being held at the 6,000 yard, par-70 parkland course of the Wigwam Resort.
Northeastern State shot a combined score of 323. St. Edward’s leads with a 305 and Grand Canyon A team is second with its 310.
Senior Whitney McAteer leads the RiverHawks with a five-over-par round score of 77 and tied for eighth place.
Senior Kelsey Kirkpatrick, Sophomore McCandren Lewis and Alex Koch are all tied for 33rd after they each shot 10-over-par to end round one with a score of 82.
Northeastern State will compete in the final round today.
