MUSKOGEE 13, BISHOP KELLEY 2— Ethan Barton (2-3) struck out four and scattered four hits as the Roughers (9-8) beat the Comets in a five-inning, run-rule victory.
Taylor Fisher had two hits including his first home run of the season with a two-run blast and drove in four runs for the game. Tyler Bowden and Trey Gatzman drove in two runs each for the Roughers.
VIAN 9, RED OAK 4 – In a matchup of top-5 teams in their respective classes, Vian, No. 2 in the Okrankings.com Class 3A poll, defeated Red Oak, No. 1 in Class B, 9-4 in Vian on Monday.
Shawn Troutman started on the mound and pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts in remaining perfect at 6-0. Jon Andrews was 2-for-2 for the Wolverines (15-1) with two RBIs and one run scored while Troutman was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Dalton Morris was 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
OKAY 5, HULBERT 3 – Noah Eastwood tossed a complete game in Okay’s win over Hulbert.
Eastwood scattered three hits and struck out 11 to improve to 1-1 on the year. He was also 2-for-2 at the plate with an RBI while Zac Cagle was 2-for-3 with and RBI and Coleman Harris was 1-for-3 with an RBI as the Mustangs improved to 2-5 on the season.
GORE 7, WARNER 2 – Colby Clay improved to 7-0 on the season, holding Warner to three hits, in leading Gore past the Eagles on Monday.
Clay was also 1-for-2 at the plate with two sacrifice flies and three RBIs as the Pirates jumped to 16-2 on the season while Warner fell to 17-3. Logan Ohl led the way for Gore going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and one RBI while Wade Shanks was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
For Warner, Gage Sparrow suffered his first loss of the season to go with his three wins and scored a run while Justin Wright also scored a run.
OKTAHA SPLITS – The Oktaha Tigers used the long ball to win its game 5-1 over Sallisaw Central before falling to Roland 12-11.
In the first game, Jordan Webb and Dalton Martin hit two-run home runs for the Tigers, Webb’s was in the first inning, his fourth of the year, while Martin’s came in the fifth inning, his first one the season. Webb got the win on the mound, striking out 10 batters in 6 1/3 innings to improve to 4-2 on the year while Daceauda Davis came on in relief to pick up his second save of the season.
Game two saw Austin Crowder go 3-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored as the Tigers fell to 7-5. Caleb Shoemake was 2-for-5 with two RBIs while Justin Capps was 1-for-3 with an RBI and took the loss on the mound to fall to 1-1.
CHECOTAH 5, MORRIS 0 – Kameron Elerick and Wyatt Hatridge combined on a two-hit shutout for Checotah over Morris.
Elerick (4-2) struck out seven and gave up one hit in 3 2/3 innings while Hatridge pitched the final 3 1/3 innings and also struck out seven with one hit.
Cade Christian had two hits for the Wildcats (11-7) with one run scored and one RBI while Trey Blankenship had two hits with one run scored.
