RAINOUTS —Porum and Oktaha both got rained out of their games in the Weleetka tournament. Eufaula and Muldrow’s contests were also rained out.

WARNER WINS THREE WAY—Warner Eagles won a three-way with Porter and Canadian.

The first game they beat Porter 18-3, winning pitcher was Tim Smithson who improved to 4-0. The second game against Canadian they won 4-2, Gage Sparrow earned the win moving to 3-0 for the season.


LADY ROUGHERS WON TWO IN TOURNEY— The Lady Roughers (14-6) won two out of three in the Big Cat Classic playing three top five ranked teams in 6A.

Muskogee knocked off defending 6A champions No. 2-ranked Westmoore 20-17. Shaylee Rowland was 5-for-6 with two doubles, Dee Emarthle was 4-for-5 with two home runs and Kelsey McClure was 3-for-4 with two home runs.

Muskogee was downed by No. 1 Moore in their second game 13-12. The Lady Roughers led 12-8 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Moore hit a three-run home run. Moore added a walkoff two run home run to win the game. Paige Gann was 3-for-3 with a home run and Rowland was 2-for-3 with a home run.

In their final contest of the day, the Lady Roughers dropped No. 4 Union 9-6. Rowland hit her second home run  of the day and Gann was 2-for-2 with two RBIs. Morgan Taylor was the pitcher in all three games to put her record  at 12-6. They continue tournament play today at 12 p.m. against Tecumseh and at 3 p.m. against Anadarko.

LOCUST GROVE 12,FORT GIBSON 11—The Lady Tigers fell to 2-6 after they dropped a game to Locust Grove in the Locust Grove tournament. Taylor Cosby was the losing pitcher in this matchup which brought her record to 2-6 also. Toni Rowland was 2-for-2 with a home-run her first on the year and Isabelle Hubbert had a three run home-run also her first of the year.


HILLDALE BOYS FINISH FOURTH — Chris Ramey and Bailey James scored goals, but it wasn’t enough for the Hornets to beat Victory Christian in the third place at the Stilwell Tournament. Hilldale is 2-6 for the season.

In girls action, the Lady Hornets beat Heavener 3-0 and lost 3-2 to Wagoner in a shootout. Leah Gragg scored in both games and Alexis Gutierrez scored on a penalty kick against Wagoner.

PORTER 1, HEAVENER 0— Porter Lady Pirates won behind Kassadee Merrill’s first half goal. Kelci Riley was on goal for the Lady Pirates and had one save. Porter held Heavener to one shot on goal the entire game.


ROUGHER BREAKS RECORD— Muskogee’s Dexter McGriff, a football signee with the Naval Academy, broke the school discus record at the Broken Arrow track meet with a throw of 142 feet and nine inches. The record was 140-11.

“D.J. really showed out today. He threw great today and I’m really proud of him.” coach David Heath said.

McGriff placed third for the day.
