— NSU 6-3, PITT STATE 5-12 — Northeastern State (16-14, 16-14 MIAA) scored five runs with two outs in the top of the final inning to come from behind and take down the Gorillas (18-11, 15-10) in the opening game of the series.

Three hit batsmen and a base on balls plated a run and with the bases still jammed, Cody Robinson’s double cleared the bases and he scored on Kyle Singleton’s single.

Eufaula High grad Trevor Walch sat down all three batters he faced in the seventh on groundouts to earn his fourth save of the season. T.J. Foster (2-0) earned the win after allowing two runs on four hits in the next three innings.

Pitt State jumped on second-game starting pitcher Hayden Walch, scoring twice in the third and three times in the fourth to open up a 5-1 lead in the second game. Singleton had two hits to lead NSU, which next gets Lindenwood in Tahlequah on Saturday.
